Responsibilities

  • Sourcing & Vendor Management

    • Identify and evaluate overseas suppliers based on price, quality, reliability, and delivery speed

    • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with international vendors

  • Import Order Management

    • Raise purchase orders and track confirmations

    • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely dispatch and documentation

  • Documentation & Compliance

    • Handle all import-related documentation including LC (Letter of Credit), Bill of Lading, Packing List, Certificate of Origin, etc.

    • Ensure compliance with customs regulations, DGFT norms, and foreign trade policies

  • Logistics Coordination

    • Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and CHA (Customs House Agents) for timely clearance

    • Monitor shipment status and handle delays, demurrage, or discrepancies

  • Cost Control

    • Negotiate pricing and payment terms

    • Monitor landed cost analysis including freight, duty, and handling charges

  • Inventory & Planning

    • Coordinate with planning and stores team to manage inventory levels and avoid stockouts or overstocking

  • ERP / MIS Reporting

    • Maintain records in Softwares.

    • Prepare and share timely procurement reports and dashboards

 

Key Competencies and Qualifications

  • Knowledge of import regulations and international trade laws

  • Strong in negotiation, coordination, and vendor communication

  • Familiar with customs clearance process and documentation

  • Experience using ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)

  • Proficiency in Excel and costing analysis
